Don't let the smiles fool you! It was a rough night, to say the least...

The limping continued all day, and we had a 6:00 appointment at the U. After watching Jackson walk, Dr. Norlin sent us off to x-ray. Thank goodness for my sissy is all I can say, she was a lifesaver! Not just because it took three grown adults to hold Jackson down for x-rays, but because she managed to keep me sane through out the process. X-rays did not reveal anything, but according to Dr. Norlin, this is common with "toddler fractures", as he is usually not able to identify the fracture on an x-ray until it begins to heal.

We have been racking our brains to try and figure out how/when Jackson could have got a fracture, as he played like usual all weekend and Sunday night, and woke up at 5:00 AM unable to walk normally. Makes NO sense. Unfortunately, it sounds like depending on the nature of the child and their capacity for pain, you don't always know the "moment of impact", and may never know when they injured themselves. Needless to say, they do not cast or wrap a child's leg at this age, they simply try to keep them off of it as much as possible (have you seen my son?!), and hope it heals properly. We will likely be back this Friday and again next week for additional x-rays.
