Happy Independence Day!

With all the fires in the valley over the last several weeks, and one large one just the night before the 4th which wasn't far away, we were worried about smoke and haze for the Brighton 4th of July parade. The weather was great, albeit a bit too warm...  We arrived way too early, as usual, and the kids entertained each other until the parade began.

Little man got the sliver of a lifetime during our walk around the lake, and Peyton turfed it and dirtied up her cute white shorts.  We have some sturdy little ones!  When the parade began, all they cared about was their candy intake, and they wanted to make sure that they had the exact same number of pieces as each other, and that they were the same kind of candy.  Jackson is a bit more aggressive in this department than Peyton, and they both ended up with their Halloween bags full of candy!  What a great parade!
