July 13, 2008

We've had a busy few days, and one VERY long night last night! Jackson's also had a lot of firsts over the last few days.
On Thursday, we attended a bbq for Keri, one of Lonnie's friends, who is moving to Boston to work as a pharmacist at Brigham and Women's. Good luck Keri, hope everything goes well in Boston, we know you'll do great!

Above, check out Jackson in his blue athletic socks! He has one in every color thanks to Auntie Joan! Thank you Auntie Joan, Jackson's a very stylish man because of you!!!
We couldn't wait any longer, and after 6 weeks of life and no swing, we headed to Babies 'R Us on Friday to return Jackson's Graco swing, that was missing screws, and that were supposed to be Federal Expressed to us from Graco weeks ago. As a result of the long wait, the Smith's are boycotting Graco, and settled on the Fisher Price Papasan Cradle swing, check it out above! Jackson seems to love it, and if it allows an hour for laundry and cleaning the house, I'm sold also! Kim and Ethan were over for dinner on Friday night to get ready for Krista's shower, so they were here for my first swing ride!
Above is Jackson with Daddy for the first Baby Bjorn attempt! Jackson is a bit small (short) for the carrier, but he seems to enjoy it nonetheless, and he's had several practices at the Baby Bjorn this weekend. Thank you Greta!!!
Yesterday was Krista's baby shower, and Grandma Mower came over to help with Jackson during the shower, shown above. Thank you mom for ALL your help with Jackson in general, and in getting ready for the shower this week, I couldn't have done it without you! Jackson and Ethan got dressed up for yesterday's shower (another one of Jackson's firsts - a baby shower for someone other than himself), so I had to take a picture of the two handsome men together.
Started putting Jackson in his crib at night on Thursday and had a few decent nights, but last night was pretty rough. After he woke up at 11:30 to eat he had continual belly pains, and ended up being passed from mom to dad around 2:30 AM. When I woke up this morning Jackson, Daddy, and Bailey were all asleep together in the guest room, and I was feeling kind of lonely. Here's hoping for a better night tonight!
Kristin
